Our story

You could say Mike was born nuts. That's because his dad sold cashews for a living, so Mike was munching on these little wonders long before the nation started slinging them in their shopping carts.

When Mike began working with his dad he started dreaming of a better cashew, without the oil and artificial ingredients added by other companies. A few years of experimenting produced a 100% natural, yummy snack. Then fate stepped in. One Halloween Tyler went trick or treating to Mike's place wearing his food company hat. The hat prompted Mike to mention his own cashew product. With one crunch Tyler was hooked, and our business was born.

Tyler's colleague Jerome completed the team and the original Yumnuts began meeting daily in the library, at our local Whole Foods café or wherever we could find a quiet corner. With a business plan in place it was time to see what people thought of our cashews. And the response was great. In fact, 'yum' came up over and over again.
